I found the 5000x to be a better deal because of the rgb fans. Other than that I believe the only difference is the front panel which can be bought separately. 5000x comes with 3 fans the 5000d comes with two.

Really excited, I LOVED the 4000 but that 360mm AIO support is a game changer for me. The case has space for only one at a time either a 360mm radiator in the front or a 280mm radiator on top if low-profile RAM is used. the 5000d vs the corsair 4000d airflow wont be much different imo only really reason to go bigger is rad space, looks, or Brut force to cool a hot cpu/ gpu like a 3090. My black 5000D airflow should be showing up tomorrow, had one day left to return my 4000D at time of release of the 5000D. The 4000D still supports plenty of cooling setups, but its smaller size can become an issue with radiator placement.

Both of these cases excel at cooling, offering a number of fan and radiator placement options. Because the 5000D is LARGE for a 'mid-tower' its almost as big as some full towers.
